Interview: Dead C.A.T. Bounce

A far-cry from American dubstep, but still incredibly familiar, Dead C.A.T. Bounce out of Luxembourg are two very young producers who are taking bass music and adding some melodious filth. Over the past years they have been releasing strait unrequited grime and the majority of it for free and who doesn’t love free tracks? Especially when they’re this well-produced! The music is high energy and mature, especially for how young these guys are, with electric bass wobbles and magnetic grind.  We were lucky enough to catch up with these two up and comers for a quick interview.

1. You guys are definitely young musicians but are already making a lot of noise on the scene. How’d you guys meet? When did you get started making music?

(DCB) We’re both from Luxembourg and we met through common friends. we got along directly, mainly because of our passion for music. Even though we started by making rock music, being both guitar players, we finally decided to continue with electro, one and a half years ago, which we are really passionate about. We definitely think that this passion counters our young age.

2. Culturally you are both French and Italian, but originated in Luxembourg, all great countries for electronic music. From where do you derive the most of your inspiration both in music and in life?

(DCB) Those countries are also great for partying, so we get a lot of inspiration from that. We love seeing people having fun on our music and we love to participate in those three countries’ nightlife. But our inspiration is mainly musical as we love and admire Skrillex, Bloody Beetroots and Wiz Khalifa. Their music and success are a great inspiration for us.

3. You definitely have a fresh new bass sound from what we’re used to over in the states. If you could describe your sound in just a few words what would they be?

(DCB) Love, sex, american express.

4. Are you guys making your way to the states any time soon? What can we expect from a Dead C.A.T. Bounce live set?

(DCB) Oh yeah, we wish we could come to US soon ! what you can expect from us on a live set is melodic tracks with amazing beats!

5. What’s next for Dead C.A.T Bounce, any exciting new releases we can look forward to?

(DCB) Our next release will be our EP “Solution” with remixes from xKore, Dubsidia, Callum B & Linius and Telmini and some free remixes
