Liquidating Ambiance

Bugs, it’s time to kick back an relax and let the sounds of Liquid Stranger wash over you. Today marks the release of the Swede’s newest album “Cryogenic Encounters.” He’s traditionally known for grimey, booming-bass dubstep production, but this 13-track album (including 1 bonus track) is a nearly complete inversion of his style. It’s ambient, mellow, and chilling every step of the way.

Beacon – Liquid Stranger

It’s pretty tough for me to classify this as dubstep, but that shouldn’t deter any fan of good music from giving it a shot. These songs are beautifully & delicately constructed to ease the troubles of your mind, the outside world, and everything in between. From a first listen you might pass these tracks off as sounding too simple, a little basic; but as you delve deeper into the tracks, you begin to realize the complexity that went into each and every one. The ambient synths reminisce of New Age electronic music and the ever present glitchy effects are just something else. His dubstep style of course also creeps into the mix, with reduced wobbles and filth-ridden synths washing in and out of every song.

Burst – Liquid Stranger

Below you can listen in to the stream of every track on the record, I recommend pressing play from track one and letting it ride all the way till the end, then make your monetary decision (Only $8 currently). Its a perfect listen while you’re at work, trying to unwind, or just simply searching for something new to hear. My personal highlights: Beacon, Burst, Frostbite, and Ectoplasm. Enjoy!
