Moombahton's Still Cookin'

Yeah, Moombahton’s here to stay, in fact, Moombahton’s here to take over! There is no genre like it, it can be bouncy as a Himalayan rock-slide or as sensual as a night handcuffed to both Fabio and the original Old Spice guy. It just keeps growing and developing, getting louder and quieter and faster and slower, moving left and right, up, down, North, South, East, West. Moombahton can do it all just so long as those underlying drums are always smiling up from the synth torrent. If you don’t know what I’m talking about perhaps these tracks will help make it all clear.

Up first we’ve got moombahsoul major, David Heartbreak, and 1/2 of GTA, DJ JWLS, coming in with a sample of their new track “Pimpin’” I believe the flavor of this jam is Hennessy with a Courvoisier preserve.

Next, some of the best Moombahton artists in the country have gotten together to remix the new Iggy Izalea LP. ETC!ETC!, Kid Cedek, and Mr. Vega took this Aussie lady rappers’ fresh new mixtape and added their own personal moombah-spin. These frontrunners obviously took inspiration from Izalea that goes far beyond her positively bodacious bod. The tracks vary from more mellow moombahsoul to some serious core grind and all are produced to the “T” which is incredible considering the remixes were made within 2 weeks. These are some stand-outs, get the whole mixtape here.
