At the beginning of every week oodles of new singles, EPs, albums are released to digital music stores worldwide for fans to enjoy. There’s a whole lot of good stuff that gets lost in that pile of music and were here to make sure it doesn’t slip through your fingertips. Weekly, we’ll be throwing up brief overviews of our favorites along with links where to buy them, so you can get the tracks that fit your fancy.

Pop Rox Muzik has released an “Essentials” compilation, showcasing the best tracks of their best talent from over the past 2 years. If you’re looking for a label that produces enthralling electro house, while still introducing new and upcoming talent, Pop Rox is your answer. The compilation features the likes of Cold Blank, Darth & Vader, KNY Factory, Lazy Rich, Hirshee, and about 15 other artists. The label strives to capture a more retro 70s/80s sound, so you’ll find that most of the tracks get funky, but most importantly, they’re all just good, good music. Exclusively on Beatport.

Another must-have from all the end-of-year compilations, and a gift that keeps on giving, is Dim Mak Records Best of 2011. If you hadn’t already guessed its a record consisting of 28 of their biggest and best releases from the year. You’ll  find yourself familiar with many of the most popular tracks, but for the lot you’re not, give them a listen and see what suits you. Of course you have the big name tracks (namely “Tornado,” Stars Come Out,” etc.) but it also includes originals/remixes from Dangerous Dan, Mustard Pimp, Alvin Risk, and even Fischerspooner, which in turn gives the album a whole lot of variety.
